Delete your account

You can delete your pikle account and all associated data at any time.
Option 1: Delete from within the app (recommended)
The fastest and easiest way.
- Open the pikle app
- Tap Settings (top right)
- Go to Account → Delete account
- Follow the on-screen confirmation
How it works: Your account is deactivated immediately and hidden from profiles, search, and recommendations; your content is shown anonymously.
Recovery: Within 30 days of deletion, you can restore your account by signing in again. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Option 2: Request by email
If you've already uninstalled the app or can no longer access it, you can request deletion by email.

- Include in the body:
- The email address you signed up with
- Your username (handle)
Processing time: Within 30 days of receipt.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
You can remove individual content while keeping your pikle account active.
Within the app
- Pickles: open your pickle → menu → Delete
- Worldcups: open the worldcup → menu → Delete
- Feed posts: open the post → menu → Delete
- Comments: long-press your comment → Delete
- Chat messages: long-press your message → Delete
- Profile data (nickname, profile photo, bio): Settings → Account info → edit or clear
Deletion is immediate; the data is removed from feeds, profiles, and search results.
Request by email
If you need help removing specific data, email us:
- To: contact@pikleapp.com
- Subject: Data deletion request
- Include in the body:
- The email address you signed up with
- Your username (handle)
- The specific data you want removed (a pickle URL, comment ID, chat thread, etc.)
Processing time: Within 30 days of receipt.
What happens to system metadata
After user-generated content is deleted, internal system records are automatically purged on a fixed schedule:

Compliance audit logs (moderation, reports) are archived for 12 months and then anonymized.
Data that will be permanently deleted
After 30 days from deletion, the following is permanently removed. Within those 30 days it is hidden but retained and recoverable; already-shared content such as pickles, worldcups, comments, and votes is shown anonymously to preserve conversation and result context, then permanently anonymized after 30 days.
- Profile information (nickname, profile photo, bio)
- Posts and voting history
- Chat messages
- Uploaded media (photos, videos)
- Follow / follower relationships
- Notification settings and preferences
Data we are required to retain
Some records must be kept for a limited period to comply with applicable laws (such as Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).

After the legal retention period, this data is automatically deleted or anonymized so that you can no longer be identified.
